A highly experienced Infrastructure Engineer is required to join a hugely successful financial organisation based in Edinburgh’s city centre. This firm are well known to all in the financial sector and are currently undergoing some positive large-scale changes which have necessitated the hiring of a number of senior infrastructure staff for their impressive Edinburgh site. 
 
Working in a team of around 5 people, with further support in the London offices, the successful candidate’s remit will focus largely on project work. Everyday duties are likely to include new server builds (Windows Server 2012, legacy systems are 2008), performance reviews and some troubleshooting (3rd line support). DevOps and automation is currently being promoted company-wide and as such, commercial experience in technologies such as Chef would put candidates at a big advantage. Solid cloud computing and VMware knowledge is also required and while Microsoft Azure is preferred, Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience would also be valued. 
 
Successful candidates will likely have worked in ITIL-aligned large scale financial environments. Strong communication skills are also key, as is experience working with remote teams. This role requires someone who can make an immediate impact as the projects they will be involved in are considered pivotal for the company and are subject to time constraints.
 
Skills should include most of the following:
 
• Active Directory
• Microsoft Azure/AWS
• VMWare vSphere 
• ITIL Certification
• Windows Server 2008/2012
• Cisco UCS Blades, HP Blades, Proliant Servers
• Scripting languages such as Chef, Powershell
